The kit

Not much to this kit. You get a total of 10 parts cast in medium grey resin. The missile consists of 7 parts, and the maintenance dolly is 3 parts. Resin molding is excellent. All the parts are smooth and free from bubbles and other imperfections. There is a small instruction sheet with a parts breakdown along with 2 simple steps for construction. The panel lines are engraved, but they are quite deep in my opinion. Absolutely no worries here with filling them by applying too much paint.

All control surfaces are butt joined to the body making it difficult to line them up correctly. The butt join is also weak, so be careful not to bump them or they stand a chance of snapping off the body - easy to fix during construction, much more annoying if it should happen while painting. The exhaust opening needs to be drilled out as this is where the body attaches to the pour plug.

No decals and no colouring guide are provided. It is left to the modeller to find information on any camouflage colours to apply. I chose to paint my missile as a test shot in overall Testors Gloss Orange enamel (#1127 - a paint by the way that is no longer available) over top of a light grey primer.

I did not build the dolly, instead opting for my standard in flight mode on a Games Workshop Monster Base (see built model below) to match the other missiles in my collection.

Conclusion

A nice and quick build. The butt joins for wings and fins is somewhat tricky, and the deep panel lines are rather distracting, but once built and painted a respectable rendition of this iconic cruise missile can be had. It surpasses the same subject produced by 12 Squared and Model Collect.
